Airflow pulverizer is that compressed air is accelerated into supersonic airflow through Laval nozzle and then injected into the pulverization area to fluidize the materials (the airflow expands into fluidized bed suspension boiling and collides with each other), so each particle has the same movement state.

As an important equipment of superfine grinding, the air flow pulverizer has been widely used in ultrapure superfine grinding of dry powder materials such as chemical industry, medicine, battery materials, metallurgy, talc, quartz, graphite, abrasive, flame retardant materials, ceramics, pigments, food additives, pigments, etc.

Characteristics of air flow mill

In addition to the fine particle size, air flow comminution products also have the characteristics of narrow particle size distribution, smooth particle surface, regular particle shape, high purity, high activity, good dispersion, etc.

Due to the Joule Thomson cooling effect produced by the adiabatic expansion of compressed gas during the crushing process, it is also suitable for ultra-fine crushing of low melting point and heat sensitive materials.

Working principle of air flow pulverizer

The dry oil-free compressed air or superheated steam is sprayed out at high speed through the nozzle, and the high-speed jet carries the animal materials to make high-speed movement, so that the materials are collided, rubbed and crushed. The crushed materials arrive at the classification area with the air flow, and the materials meeting the fineness requirements are collected by the collector. If the materials fail to meet the requirements, they shall be returned to the crushing chamber for further crushing until they reach the required fineness and are collected.

Because of the high velocity gradient near the nozzle, most of the pulverization occurs near the nozzle. In the crushing chamber, the collision frequency between particles is much higher than that between particles and the chamber wall. That is to say, the main crushing effect in the air flow mill is the impact or friction between particles.
